Advocacy Unlimited, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that helps countless persons with psychiatric disabilities and their families. Our primary purpose is to educate persons with psychiatric disabilities and persons in recovery in self, systems, and legislative advocacy skills, enabling them to re-integrate into the community and achieve their independence. Everyone should be treated equally, regardless of race, gender, or disability. With the appropriate knowledge, skills, and training, they can then play a central role in shaping the services and policies that effect their lives.
Unfortunately, Advocacy Unlimited, Inc. is operating in an atmosphere of constrained budgets. We cannot afford to purchase all the materials necessary to help our students in their quest for knowledge and independence, nor provide the support and on-going education necessary for our students after graduation.
As a nonprofit organization, we depend on private donations to supplement the limited funding available through state and federal sources. Currently, budget cutbacks are adversely impacting the number of individuals we can train through our Advocacy Education Program, as well as the unique support we provide to individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Your financial support would go a long way in helping us continue to provide services to the people and families who need it.
