Advocacy Unlimited is proud to have received a 2006 Spirit of the ADA Award, along with several other individuals and organizations. Sponsored by the Developmental Disabilities Network, the awards were presented at the Second Annual Spirit of the ADA Celebration held Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in the Michael J. Adanti Student Center, Southern Connecticut State University.
This year, the Developmental Disabilities Network honored organizations and individuals who have gone above and beyond in promoting the full inclusion of people in recovery from mental illness. Advocacy Unlimited was nominated for this award by Elanah Sherman of the Office of Protection & Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities.
The Connecticut Developmental Disabilities Network is a partnership of the Office of Protection & Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, the Council on Developmental Disabilities, and the University of Connecticut AJ Pappanikou Center on Developmental Disabilities.
