Regional Consumer Advisory Council (RCAC) is
honoring requests for its Mini-Grants Proposal
::: Available September 8 through November 4, 2008 :::
The Regional Consumer Advisory Council (RCAC) anticipates receiving funds from the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services with which to award grants to persons in recovery from either addiction and/or psychiatric disorders who are both residents of north central CT and adults 18 years or older. You may apply for more than one mini-grant at a time, but you must use one application per project.
Proposals are due no later than 4:00 pm Wednesday, November 5, 2008…
Please walk-in or mail your proposal to the North Central Regional Mental Health Board (NCRMHB) office. All applications must be received in the NCRMHB office by this date, not just postmarked by this date (see address below).
These mini-grants have a cap of $2,000 and must be used in a project related to at least one of the following priority areas:
Projects will need support from an existing non-profit agency with 501(c)3 status that agrees to serve as a fiduciary agent (money manager). Grant funding will be sent directly to this agent so it is important to have a good relationship with this party. A grant review will take place by peers from outside of Region 4 to ensure no conflicts of interest occur. All applicants will receive notification via letter regarding the results of the review. Employees of the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services cannot participate in this project as it is a conflict of interest (DMHAS funds the RCAC Mini-Grants project).
*** Original signatures on proposal(s) from both project leader and fiduciary are required to participate. For this reason, original applications must be mailed or hand delivered. No fax'ed reproductions or email attachments will be accepted. ***
Funded projects begin operating the week your fiduciary receives the grant deposit from North Central Regional Mental Health Board (RCAC fiduciary) and end on or before Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Awarded applicants generally receive funding in December, however, we cannot always guarantee this. This allows six-months to complete grant projects.
