From I-84 Eastbound

From I-84 East, take exit 48-B, Capital Avenue. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Capital Avenue. Continue on Capital Avenue past the Broad Street intersection and past Flower Street. DMHAS will be on the right. Just before the DMHAS building, there will be a driveway on your right to visitor parking in the rear. (see a map )

From I-84 Westbound

From I-84 West, take Exit 48, Asylum Street. Turn right at the light at the end of the exit, then immediately bear left onto the start of Farmington Avenue. Go a very short distance on Farmington Avenue to the next light (YWCA is on the corner) and turn left onto Broad Street. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Capital Avenue, and continue past Flower Street. DMHAS will be on the right. Just before the DMHAS building, there will be a driveway on your right to visitor parking in the rear. (see a map )

From North of Hartford (I-91 Southbound)

Take I-91 South to the junction of I-84 in Hartford, and take I-84 West toward Waterbury. Take Exit 48, Asylum Street. Turn right at the light at the end of the exit, then bear immediately left onto the start of Farmington Avenue. Go a very short distance on Farmington Avenue to the next light (YWCA is on the corner) and turn left onto Broad Street. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Capital Avenue, and continue past Flower Street. DMHAS will be on the right. From South of Hartford (I-91 Northbound)

Take I-91 North to Exit 29A, Capital Area exit, and proceed along the exit 29A connector. You will come to a traffic circle at the end of this long connector road. Proceed around the traffic circle, and turn right from the circle onto Elm Street. Follow Elm Street to the end (you will see the State Capitol Building in front of you). At the stop light at the end of Elm Street, go left onto Trinity Street, then go right at the next light onto Capitol Avenue. The State Capital Building will be on your right. Proceed along Capital Avenue, going past the Capital Building and past the entrance to I-84 West. Continue on Capital Avenue past the Broad Street intersection and past Flower Street. From West Hartford, Route 44

Take Asylum Avenue (Route 44) from North Main Street in West Hartford. Proceed along Asylum Avenue (Route 44) heading toward Hartford until you get to the Broad Street intersection (the Hartford Insurance Group headquarters building will be on your left). Turn right onto Broad Street. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Capital Avenue, and continue past Flower Street. DMHAS will be on the right.
