College Credit for AU Graduates

Revised February 26, 2009

College Credit at Housatonic Community College
Graduates of AU's Advocacy Education Course can obtain 3 college credits at Housatonic Community College (HCC). The documents below provide more information as well as the process by which AU graduates can apply for HCC course credit. Credit can also be counted towards the MERGE Mental Health Certificate Program should students decide to continue taking courses. Alternatively, it can count towards credit in the HCC Victim Certificate Program. The contacts at Housatonic Community College are:

Ed Keane, Ph.D, Coordinator of Human Services  (203) 332-5165
Prof. Claudine Coba-Loh, Chair, Dept. of Behavioral and Social Sciences  (203) 332-5167
Samantha Mannion, Coordinator of Criminal Justice  (203-332-5168)

AU graduates interested in seeking credit should contact Dr. Keane and Professor Coba-Loh first to clarify how they would advise them to proceed.

Certificate program and associate degrees in human services are available at most, if not all, of the community colleges. Students can transfer credits between and among higher education institutions. At HCC, students can obtain a certificate as long as they take at least 3 of 9 courses at HCC.

The documents below contain details, requirements, and an application form with instructions.
