Our Journey of Recovery
Advocacy Unlimited, Inc. (AU) is one of the nation's largest statewide grassroots advocacy education organizations run by and for consumers and persons in recovery. Established in 1994 by Founding Director Yvette Sangster, its primary mission is to educate individuals with psychiatric disabilities and persons in recovery in self, systems, and legislative advocacy skills. AU is dedicated to promoting self-determination. We will achieve this by:

• Advocating for initiatives that further individual rights and choices
• Facilitating representation, support and education for people affected by psychiatric disabilities
• Educating individuals with the skills necessary to take an active role in the services delivery system, the legislative process, public education, and coalition-building

The AU Advocates are a "Strong, Visible, and United Voice" working for positive change in the mental health delivery system to meet the needs of the people it serves.

They are offered at a minimal price, yet your purchase of these products will help us continue our Advocacy Education Program which is provided to persons with psychiatric disabilities and persons in recovery at no cost to them.

• Our Journey of Recovery Video covers what Advocacy Unlimited does, it's educational programming, and personal stories from AU graduates about their journey of recovery. (VHS, 30 minutes, $10.00)
• Our Journey of Recovery CD provides a complete description of Advocacy Unlimited's educational programming along with personal stories from AU graduates about their journey of recovery. It also includes four stories of success from AU graduates, newspaper clippings, and links to our web site. (CD-ROM, $12.00)
• Our Journey of Recovery Book explains Advocacy Unlimited's educational programming along with twenty personal stories of recovery from AU graduates. ($8.00)
