Events, Updates and Announcements
- The 26th Advocacy Unlimited Graduation was held at the Terrywile Mansion in Danbury on December 14, 2005. The ceremony honored the Danbury students who successfully completed the Advocacy Education Course. They are AU advocates and will now begin their work in the community.
- The second Latino class graduated on March 7, 2006 at the Hartford Learning Corridor. The keynote speaker, Maritza Carrion, a graduate from the first Latino class, spoke about her accomplishments since completing the course and inspired us all.
- Classes are currently being held in Norwich. We have a total of 23 students! Graduation will be on May 8th.
- Recruitment has begun for 2006 classes. They will be held in New Britain and Hartford, CT
- A Legislative Task Force has been working on events as well as building a strong presence at the Capitol. The legislative task force members are:

- A press conference was held to express our views regarding the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Melissa Marshall, Executive Director of Advocacy Unlimited among others spoke about the potential threats to our civil rights. Judge Alito has been anti-ADA and anti-civil rights for people with disabilities. Following the press conference a petition was delivered to Senators Dodd and Lieberman.
