Message from AU's Interim Executive Director

This has been a truly special season for me. Amidst the chaos that the holidays, my family and my consulting business bring, I received a call from the AU Board asking me to be Interim Executive Director. Being someone who loves new challenges and makes business decisions based on what I think will be fun, I accepted.

People have asked me if I feel overwhelmed. After all, I stepped/jumped/was thrown into an organization that I knew little about with no notice. The answer is, yes I feel overwhelmed, but not in the way you might think. I feel overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of support that I have received from AU's staff. Literally, from the moment I walked through the door staff has gone out of their way to be gracious and helpful (I think I'm getting spoiled). I've also been overwhelmed by the support of the board which has helped make the transition seamless. Mostly, I'm overwhelmed by the work that AU does. I realize that this is made possible by its many advocates and volunteers, as well as by its staff and board. I feel truly privileged to be part of this organization.

I'm excited about meeting you all in person and to us moving forward together.
